Parents, Staff and Friends Association
Working together achieving success
The Kinson Academy Parents, Staff and Friends Association (PSFA) promotes and supports the school by raising funds for additional educational equipment, trips and resources for the school in consultation with staff and the pupils. We raise these funds by providing different events and fundraising incentives for both parents and pupils to be involved in.
How the PSFA helps
PSFA funds have been used to provide funding towards costs of educational trips, classroom and playground furniture and equipment, cameras, workshops, resources and prizes and treats for competitions being run in support of the curriculum, as well as other requests from the school. We have our work cut out, so any support would be welcomed.
How to get involved
The PSFA is run by a small committee of volunteers (parents, staff and directors), but all parents at Kinson Academy are members of the PSFA. We would like to invite all parents to get involved more by taking part, helping and supporting the fundraising activities that are organised throughout the year. It may be that you can facepaint or make cakes for a cake sale, any support helps. We do need some parents to become committee members and help with decisions that need to be made. Ideally if we can recruit one parent from each class as a PSFA Class Rep that would be our ideal situation. You will not be expected to give up hours of your free time, if you can attend one meeting a term that would be fabulous and then act as a communication point between your child/rens class that would help tremendously. If meetings aren’t your thing, just to go on the helpers list to be called upon at events. Any help, no matter how little, makes a difference.
We are always looking for new fundraising ideas, so do come along to the PSFA meetings and see how you can help. Events include: School Discos, Summer Fairs, Quiz, Chocolate Bingo, Bag2School Collection, Pamper Night, on-line Competitions but we need your support to be able to provide these events and to organise other events and activities.
More ways to help
As well as helping out at events, there are a number of fundraising initiatives that you can support. Bag2School, Jewellery Recycling, Easyfundraising, all of these provide extra funds that go into the PSFA coffers. It may be that you can donate a prize to one of our raffles or you work for a company that can offer match funding for some of our fundraising events.

Kinson Academy PSFA makes an invaluable contribution to the school and we encourage all the children and their parents to get involved to build on relationships and support their childrens journey through school.
