Learning
Our curriculum is inspirational, designed to meet the needs of our children with a carefully structured framework to ensure the requisite key skills and knowledge in each subject are taught and developed.
At Kinson Academy, our curriculum aim is to empower and enable every child with a rich variety of knowledge, skills and opportunities, enabling them to progress in school and throughout their lives.
We pride ourselves on knowing our children “inside out” and using this knowledge to individualise learning. Our children build strong relationships within our school community.
Through our nurturing environment our values of Respect, Teamwork, Resilience, Self-Regulation, Confidence and Tolerance are interwoven across the broad range of subject and opportunities on offer.
A culture of excellence underlies our curriculum. Learning in each subject is a “journey to excellence.” We have high expectations of all our children and strive to capture and celebrate excellence from each of them.
Children’s learning and teachers’ understanding of children are strengthened immeasurably when we are able to work in close partnership with parents and carers. Our school has an "Open Door" policy and we warmly welcome questions and feedback about what children are learning through informal conversations with parents at the end of the academy day.
We follow the EYFS curriculum for our Reception year children and the National Curriculum for all subjects for years 1-6.
